The rector of the University of Granada, Pedro Mercado, recently visited the excavations of the archaeological site of the ancient city of Bayra, located on the Cerro del Espíritu Santo. This important meeting coincides with the restart of the work corresponding to the third phase of the General Research Project, highlighting the historical and cultural relevance of this site for the region.

During the visit, synergies have been established between the University of Granada and the Vera City Council, strengthening collaboration and opening new opportunities for the development of joint research. This approach not only underscores the commitment to the preservation of archaeological heritage, but also promotes new lines of work that will benefit the academic community and the town of Vera.

The General Research Project continues to advance, and with the support of institutions as prestigious as the University of Granada, the future of this site promises to reveal even more about the rich history of Bayra and its impact on Andalusian culture.
